A piece for solo piano in which the brilliant Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg attempted to solve many of his technical queries, specifically a marriage of serial and spectral musical thoughts. The elaborate calculation required of this work took the composer almost two years to complete (Twine was premiered in 1988).

Yet, considering this labor, Twine radiates a glib playfulness, full of merry keyboard pranks. Andrew Infanti performs it live with this in mind.
